“Sold our soul” to the devil and Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook took advantage. There is more talk for governance in Facebook land.

We don’t have enough hard governance conversations.

If your company doesn’t have a governance mindset, you may no longer exist in 10 years. We need a better conversation with data privacy.

These are just a few quick things I jotted down that stuck out to me. This was a very informative webinar and am glad I took the time to participate. Artificial intelligence is something I haven’t thought much of — either in my day-to-day life or within the realms of my business. What I realized today is how much AI is used in so many different applications. It is behind the scenes in so many different ways and it is fascinating and terrifying at the same time.

I like that Dorman really stressed the need for governance with AI though. And I can see why. We need to be able to keep it under control and put limits on it to keep our quality of life safe. There needs to be checks and balances.

One specific way I can see how AI can be beneficial to the coffee stand business is monitoring local weather patterns and tracking sales trends. I compare sales with previous weeks on the same day. I compare the entire sales months with previous years to see how we've grown. POS systems are very versatile and convenient but adding more distraction data to the sales data would be very helpful. Maybe this could be something more to look into…
